Just try dealing with T/C customer service, and you will have all the answers you need. I asked a question, was given a complete bull___t answer. over 50 years a machinist, not easily bull_____ed. The barrel was drill for factory sights, off centererline right to left. This is a flintlock, early, firestorm. No fancy sights, no scope drilled mounts, just a factory screw up. I did my research, other guns the same model in the same time period were fine. I was told they had no replacement barrels, ok fine, I was asking if there was a possible repair. Then told they are supposed to be drilled off center sideways!! And then when questioned, a loud argument and hung up on. I guess they do not care because they are being sold again. Buyer beware.

I bought a TCA Encore Pro Hunter XT factory new from Bud's gun shop (you cannot buy directly from Thompson Center). Received the firearm, took it to the range to get sighted in after putting a leupold scope on it. Had one issue at the range- the ramrod could not be removed without loosening the screws that go through the forend. Took the muzzleloader home after getting it sighted in and cleaned it with a friend that has an older model of the Pro Hunter XT. After removing the forend, found that there was significant damage to the barrel near the hinge pin. As the muzzleloader was damaged and the ramrod could not be removed, I took pictures and sent the muzzleloader to Thompson Center. Thompson Center received the firearm and inspected it. I have been informed that "the damage could not have occurred at the factory" and that it will cost 313.95 (at a discounted price) to get a new barrel. Apparently you have to buy this muzzleloader twice to get one in factory new condition. I do not know if the damage occurred at Thompson Center's factory, or if it occurred at one of their distributors, but the fact of the matter is that I have a 'factory new' muzzleloader that has been damaged and Thompson Center is unwilling to resolve the situation. It is not possible that the damage present was caused after receiving this muzzleloader. Customer service at Thompson Center has been disorganized, has not called back when they stated they would, and has not resolved the issue. It seems like they are trying to sweep a quality control issue or a distributor issue under the rug. Overall highly disappointed and will not be purchasing another muzzleloader from Thompson Center. Figured I should get the word out that Thompson Center is having issues.
