Barrett Firearms service department 1 out of 5 stars.

I sent Barrett firearms service department back one of their barrels, I needed a bolt assembly and they wanted to check headspacing. Barrett technicians identified that the chamber lugs were "missing chunks of metal" they sent it back to me with a snarky letter attached saying it was unsafe to fire because of the missing chunks of metal and it was probably due to my use of improperly reloaded .50 bmg ammo. It is hard to believe I am having to write this.

I am a gunsmith and I have never seen any thing like this, any other manufacturer that found "chunks of metal missing" of any major end component that could cause catastrophic failure would be looking for reasons and solutions. Not Barrett, they say this is a customer issue.

Buyer Beware Barrett is an expensive investment that did not stand behind their product.
