The experience I have had with the Howa 1500 is not very good. I started out with 1500 in 22-250 Bull Barrel. Out of the box it shot 5 shot groups under 1". For me that is real good. I only got just over 4500rds. through it and the barrel was worn out. By that time I had 2 more. The best I got was 5200rds. I called Legacy Sports and told them I thought the barrel should last a lot longer than that. They were nice enough to talk to but they wouldn't do anything. They will not change out a barrel. (I now have 8 worn out barrels in my shop). I had to call Ken at Ultiment Firearms to get new barrels he had taken off receivers. I gave up on Howa's and went to The Savage 110. The first barrel I fired 9450rds. through it. Savage installed a new barrel and I got 9640rds. through that barrel. I have a new one on it now. I hand load my ammunition and everything is exactly the same I explained this to Legacy Sports but all they would do is try to give me a BS answer. When they came out with the 6.5 creedmoor with a LIFETIME WARRENTY I decided to try one more time. I only got 1734rds. through it before the barrel went bad Last purchase for anything to do with Legacy Sports.
