In reply to Sam M. The 358 is quite easy to reload and you'll significantly exceed factory ammo performance . Nosler has great ammo for it as does Buffalo Bore.

I have 3 BLR:
1. 358 winchester with a steel receiver-accuracy with sierra 225 is 1.5″ at 100
2. 270WSM with alloy receiver-accuracy with accubonds is .5″ to .75″ at 100 (140gr)
3. 300WSM with alloy receiver-accuracy with 165 and 180gr is .5 to .75″ at 100
The 270WSM is one of my 2 go to rifles. It has taken 2 elk, 7 black bears, and several muleys. All were one shot kills. One elk was taken at 415yds.

In the process of buying a BLR my favorite hunting caliber is a 30-06. The 30-06 version is 2″ longer, lever ejection throw is 1″ longer and the stock is 1″ longer over the short version. Being my build 5’8″ and 215 lbs this rifle wasn’t a good fit for me.
Once I picked up a short version it was like a different rifle. Being a woods hunter in the east and mule and elk in the west I chose the BLR in .358 caliber with pistol grip. What a beautiful rifle.

I bought this gun in the light weight stainless steel 243 Version and I love it, hardly any recoil which is surprising for the weight and the craftsmanship is classic Browning
