The TP9, the original one. Started out as a Walther P99 copy/clone.
People still call the SA, SAV2 and the SF copies or clones but they are not.
Since the first TP9 Canik has been changing the gun, and it is no longer capable of being considered a copy or clone. In fact the only thing that still ties the two fire arms is the magazine. And thats like trying to tie two guns to glock because they both use a glock magazine.
The Canik became its own animal a long time back but people are having a hard time letting go of the first TP9’s having its roots in the P99.
As to the Glock
It’s understandable that people compare it to a glock. Almost everyone compares every poly pistol to Glocks because of the poly.
While I personally would not compare the TP9 line of pistols to Glocks, They do have some parallels.
The TP9SFX, SF and SF Elite all have contemporaries in the Glock line up.
Coming from someone who hated Glocks to being a huge fan, though not a fan boy.
I recognize Glocks are not perfect and can not be perfect for everyone, though they can be perfect for some. Just as all firearms can be perfect for some.
I currently have the SF and it is a fine pistol. Canik has done well for itself. And I just saw on line another pistol made by them which is a clone of the Browning HiPower.
Always wanted a HP.

Hi Nick, thanks for reaching out. I'm not saying that you absolutely shouldn't add an attachment but in my experience, they messed with the gun's balance and I preferred the feel of the shots without any accessories.

I purchased a TP9SF and I am very pleased with the build quality and initial performance. In the review you mentioned that you do not recommend adding an attachment to the rail. Why?

I'm happy to say that finally got rid of the slide-mounted decocker, but only on the TP9 SF model.

Did they get rid of that weird de-cocker button? Mine NEVER worked, and the store told me that at $299 they wouldn’t fix/exchange the pistol. Called the “factory” no joy either.

I get it, a single action trigger that releases the striker without cocking said striker, but the decocker seemed to be the answer to a question no one answered. Sold it, bought a used G19 Gen3–goes boom every time, no extraneous controls.
