In reply to S. Plank. The Charter Arms revolver cylinder locks at the rear but, like the Colt, the cylinder turns to the right, so it really does not need a lock at the front. They will never be as critically accurate as a Smith & Wesson, but they are half the price.

You have a video of a Smith & Wesson revolver in the middle of your review of the Charter Arms revolvers. As for performance issues with the Charter Arms, they do have a lifetime guarantee. I bought a Professional in .32 Magnum that shot 12″ low at 25 feet and 8″ low at 50 feet. I sent it back to the company and they replaced the barrel and put some new grips on it for me. It hits the target now.

In reply to David Hochman. File the top of th front sight down until it’s no longer shooting low. File the left inside of the rear notch until it’s no longer shooting right. A little at a time with small hobbyist files.

My current model Bulldog .44 has been 100% reliable and very accurate. It’s the last gun I would part with. With the one piece frame, 3 point lock-up and clockwise cylinder rotation it’s one of the best designs out there. Finish is not like a Smith or Colt but the price is a LOT lower.

Great review. Unfortunately my CA 44spc. Bulldog was stollen from our home several years ago. It was the first gun I gave to my son (now a law enforcement officer). I am looking to replace as a gift to my son. Although, the early wood grip (not smooth) model seems a bit hard to find. Any suggestions where I might find?

In reply to David Hochman. David Hochman, you can file the front sight down a little at a time until your load of choice no longer shoots low. As for shooting to the right, you will have to learn to aim a few inched left of center-mass. Or don't: If it is 6 inches right at 15 yards that should be 3 inches right at 7 yards, which is a more realistic self defense range. That 3-inch-right deviation would put a perfectly centered shot right through the heart of a bad guy,

I wish I could be as excited about my standard stainless Bulldog as your review is. Mine doesn’t shoot for crap. Now before you jump to conclusions, I also have a new Bulldog Classic, and besides the really horrible double action, the Classic SHOOTS! In fact it is my off duty weapon. I’ll have a good gunsmith fix the double action.
Now back to my standard stainless Bulldog, the action is really nice, but it shoots 6 inches to the right and 6-8 inches low at 15 yards. I’ve tried at least 6 different factory loads and the results are the same. The question now is what am I going to do with this one.
