WOW very interesting comment and sound very familiar to the new Browning A5 Hunter I bought in late 2016.
Long story short the gun had cycling issues with both hi & low brass I called Browning and was told to send the gun back to have their gunsmiths look at it after doing that twice Browning decided they would just send me a completely new gun this time with specific oiling instructions the Browning rep even went as far to tell me over the phone only a drop or two of oil was needed on the slide rails that the bolt ride on. My response was I grew up in a shotgun only state I’ve had shotguns my entire life I know how to clean them & I know for a fact I didn’t have “too much oil” on the gun. Well guess what, the second gun had the same cycling issues as the first not as bad but I didn’t pay $1600.00 for a gun that works sometimes so I called Browning again a now Browning tells me I need to shoot shells that are rated at a minimum of 1,250 feet per second I did all I could not to laugh in the guys ear while telling him Winchester SuperX 3.5” 00 buck is rated at 1,200 FPS….what a joke!!! Anyway I could go on forever just wanted you to know you not alone & the issue seems like it’s not only Barretta specific just another gun that is marketed as a multi-purpose shotgun to does not perform as marketed & sold.

I own an A400 Xcel sporting 12 gauge model
I shoot low brass shells exclusively through it.
As we speak I have 4,445 rounds through it.
Not one misfire or jam. Guns less than two years old.
Kent ammunition used. 1 oz. loads.

The A400 Shotguns are pretty ammo sensitive so you need to break it in with high brass rounds and I'd generally avoid low brass with the A400s.

Beretta A400 Xtreme Couldn't have been more disappointed on the Dove Field. Would not feed low brass shells! Was told by dealer (after the fact) only will shoot the high brass loads... that this is a "Duck" gun! No where does it read high brass only! I'm an ol country boy and to shuck out 16k I expected to have a multi purpose semi auto shot gun. Paid $250.00 for a dove shoot just to be embarrassed to be the only one on the field with a single shot shotgun, bridging back after every shot. Some where Beretta needs to advertise no low brass allowed! If nothing else to save someone else from being embarrassed and spending $250.00 watching other folks shoot doves.
