In reply to Jesus Rico. It shouldn't take much to adapt the 535 for HD. You can always attach a rail with sights/lights or even switch up the stock for the 6-position tactical from Mossberg.

In reply to John Sims. Hi John, thanks for reaching out! For dove hunting you're going to want either a Modified or Improved Cylinder Choke which you can get direct from Mossberg. The modified choke will give you a bit more distance with an approximate 40" spread at about 35 yards.

I love my 535 but one day a year I get to hunt doves. What choke could I use on my 535 22” barrel that would turn it into a decent dove gun?

Nice review Sam. Was great to hear that the 535’s barrels can be swapped out with the 500’s but the mag tube needs to be changed as well. Been looking everywhere for this info.

One minor correction: The 535 has a 3-1/2″ chamber so it can shoot 2-3/4″, 3″ & 3-1/2″ shells. The 500 can’t shoot 3-1/2″ shells as you’ve said. The 500 has a 3″ chamber so it can handle 2-3/4″ & 3″ shells only.

Don’t blow your face off buy using 3-1/2″ shells in a mossberg 500.
