Like many other emerging companies in the firearm industry, Del-Ton began as a result of their passion for AR-15’s. The North Carolina-based manufacturer opened with a small assortment of rifle kits, parts, accessories, and upgrades and has since expanded tremendously. In addition to their wide variety of rifles and firearm paraphernalia, they also devote a remarkable amount of time and energy on their customer satisfaction. Let’s get down to it and take a closer look at the American-made products of the Del-Ton firearms company.

Del-Ton AR 15

While Del-Ton’s collection of AR-15’s aren’t cheap, they are better characterized as budget-friendly, though many of these rifles exceed $1,000. Del-Ton makes most of their sales with the Sport model AR, but there are a few other noteworthy rifles worth checking out. For example, I’m a fan of the DTI Evolution Rifle, though I don’t think I’d cough up the $1,300+. While the Evolution Rifle is a pretty solid choice, there are few features which truly stick out.

I have an old friend who owns an Alpha 320G and he let me take his Del-Ton rifle out for a spin. My first impression of the 20” DTI Government Profile Rifle was that it took the more traditional approach and looks more like an original pre-ban Colt AR-15. I’m usually not such a fan of these styles, mostly because of their fixed A2 stocks and standard length handguard. Nevertheless, several hundred rounds down the range and a few torture tests leads me to believe these rifles simply won’t fail, jam, or let you down.

Del-Ton Sport

The formidable, lightweight, and overall impressive Del-Ton Sport Mod 2 is the American rifle you ought to consider. It’s modern, it’s sleek, it’s sexy, and it’s affordable. The North Carolina-based gunmaker incorporated several high-end features and materials that make the Sport Mod 2 a solid choice for home defense, competition, or recreational shooting. In addition to its melonite steel barrel, phosphate steel carrier assembly, and forged 7075 T6 aluminum upper receiver, Del-Ton made several durability upgrades that can’t be overlooked. At the end of the day, it’s a pretty solid budget-friendly rifle that’s great for beginners.

Del-Ton Echo 316

The Echo 316 rifle is Del-Ton’s blend of modern performance and classic style. The American-made is AR-15 is reminiscent of the Bushmaster XM-15 but comes with a rather modest price-tag. The highly-rated and budget-friendly Echo 316 has some surprising premium features, common in rifles twice its price, making it a solid option for competition, hunting, recreation, and defense.

Conclusion

I can’t say that Del-Ton exceeded my expectations, but I was pleased with their budget-friendly rifles. I’m not saying the Del-Ton rifles don’t have their place in certain collections, but they’re not firearms I would invest in. Lastly, I don’t think Del-Ton is done. I believe the North Carolina gunmaker will improve year after year until they can compete with more established brands.
