There’s not much we know about Pinty Optics as a company but that hasn’t stopped their online sales from rising on platforms like Amazon. Pinty is a small optics manufacturer that seemingly operates out of China but they’ve garnered attention for their remarkably affordable products. Truth be told, their products have the right look but their price tags leave many questioning their quality. I was also curious and got my hands on one of their newer, top-selling products in the hopes of seeing if they’re any good. Let’s take a closer look at the Pinty Pro Series 1x30mm Red Dot Sight with Red Laser 2 MOA.

Pinty Red Dot Optics Review

Most people who are in the market for a red dot scope know they might have to lay out some cash but there are plenty of folks who want the best red dot sight for the money. At the end of the day, the Pinty sight might seem like a cheap red dot sight simply because of its price, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t capable of performing.

Looks Ok So Far

After unboxing my red dot I took a cursory glance at my new Pro Series 1x30mm Red Dot Sight and I was slightly perplexed. The sight certainly felt like it was made to be budget-friendly but it did have some nice features and controls that made it easy and pleasurable to operate. I hooked it up to my Anderson Manufacturing AM-15 Optic Ready rifle and hit the range.

The first magazine wasn’t anything to write home about but things changed when I got used to the device. I specifically wanted to pair the AM15 with this red dot because both are known for being budget-friendly. Truthfully, I really had little to complain about with the Pinty sight and I had low expectations going in. That being said, this is definitely a sub-$100 red dot sight and will have trouble competing with brands like Vortex, Leupold, Nightforce, Nikon, Burris, AimPoint and Bushnell that never go out of style. In reality, there are the best sights and optics but then there are companies that offer solid options for affordable prices.

Through The Looking Glass

Like I said, I didn’t really have any real issues with the Pinty but I believe it serves a specific purpose, namely providing shooters with a functional and affordable variant to the expensive industry leaders. In fact, I actually think the Pinty red dot sight is a fantastic option for new shooters but can also be a great option as an airsoft red dot sight for people into that stuff. It would even do well on air rifles that people are buying left and right these days.

I also wanted to see how it would handle tactical situations so I took it out in the rain and did some home defense drills just to see how it really handles some challenge. For starters, I really like how it sat on my rifles’ Picatinny rails and it made maintaining a solid sight picture on the move pretty easy. I cleared all the rooms in my house in a variety of lighting and moving speeds and the Pinty didn’t disappoint. Obviously, it couldn’t perform as well as some of my other optics, but it performed better than expected and proved to be a valuable piece of equipment. Now, I wouldn’t shoot competitively with it, but I don’t think they would’ve expected otherwise.

Pinty Optic in Action

Then there is the durability of the red dot and this is where I was most concerned. The foreign manufacturing and low price tag led me to believe that durability was an issue but I was surprised. The Pro Series Red Dot is surprisingly well-built but I’d still be a bit careful with it. They built it with a strong aluminum housing that handled the rain pretty well and had a pretty decent shock-resistant construction. As an added bonus, the sight seemed to be decently fog proof which is good for round the year shooting.

AR-15 scopes. What can I say? They look so badass. I love it. Always have. They can make just about any run-of-the-mill low-cost AR look like something out of a movie. That’s the less calculated side of me talking, but I cannot ignore it.

The AR-15 was developed in the late 1950’s and scopes became available almost immediately. Ever since the rifle was introduced, many people – and companies – were interested in increasing its effective range with use of various optics. The older M16 units had a carrying handle, and scopes were mounted there. Accurate, but not too convenient. The M4 flat-top was a welcomed game changer.

In the past, unless you were military, your options were somewhat limited. Nowadays there are so many brands, you get lost just thinking about it. A scope – or some other type of optic – is considered to be a part of any proper AR configuration. Backup sights are always recommended, by the way, but a scope or red dot can really widen your options.

Shooters around the world attach a scope to their rifle since it provides them with the potential for an increased range, and because it makes them that much more accurate. To be clear, an optic won’t magically turn you into a better shooter. You still need to put in the time and effort to maximize its potential. But yes, a scope is often a reliable and faithful companion, whether you are out hunting, competing, or simply honing your skills.

Best AR 15 Scope

The best AR scope is the one which fits you, your rifle, and the task at hand. Cliche, but true. Example: there would be no reason to invest in a heavyweight scope, for instance, if your goal is to create a seriously lightweight carbine. There would be no need to purchase a scope designed for exceedingly long ranges (e.g. 8.5-25X50), if you will only be shooting at targets 200 yards away. You get my point. Money and magnifying power are not the be all and end all of this business.

You need to know what you are sacrificing when you decide to purchase a scope, because chances are you will be sacrificing something. There are times when the scope’s ability to provide you with long-range precision will compromise your visual perception at close range. Again, it is all about what it is exactly that you are shooting at.

Also, let’s not forget that unlike sights, scopes are lenses which require some type of eye relief. If you are not a certain distance from the eyepiece, you will not be able to see (and consequently shoot) properly.

So, what are some of the best scopes out there right now? Brands such as Vortex, Leupold, Nightforce, Nikon, Burris, and Bushnell never go out of style. They manage to consistently provide customers of all sorts with top-notch equipment. They are not without faults, of course, but they have a great reputation, and rightly so.

The best AR scope will be one which is A) durable, B) has magnifying capabilities that match your needs, and C) is within your price range. In other words, you need to do some <g class="gr_ gr_6 gr-alert gr_gramm gr_inline_cards gr_disable_anim_appear Punctuation only-del replaceWithoutSep" id="6" data-gr-id="6">research,</g> and take your rifle and intended-use fully into account.

AR 15 Tactical Scopes

The word ‘tactical’ is thrown around a lot by writers and shooters alike. Perhaps I myself am also guilty of the occasional over-use. So let me make it clear that when I say “tactical scopes”, I mean ones which are/were based on military models, or ones which were originally made for the civilian market, but which manifest some of those military-use characteristics.

A tactical scope will usually be heavier and larger than ordinary scopes. Some tactical scopes have a different kind of reticle (or a set of reticles), meant to be used under various circumstances. Sometimes the turrets will be exposed – for quick on-the-fly adjustments -, unlike their civilian/hunting counterparts. Another difference will be price – tactical scopes which are actually tactical, tend to be more expensive.

Examples of some of the more popular tactical scopes :

Trijicon ACOG 4X32

Leupold VX-1 3-9X40

Nikon P-223 3-9X40

And I will also add one here which is less popular, due to its higher price point, but it is a quality item which deserves some recognition.

Swarovski Z6i 1-6X24

Swarovski has some of the best glass in the business, and this model also has night vision capabilities. Which brings us to…

AR 15 Night Vision Scope

Low light conditions can be highly problematic, no matter how good you are. If I have said it once, I’ve said it a million times: you can’t take aim at what you can’t see. You could bet on your odds and take a shot in the dark (pun intended!), but in general, you want to be able to actually see the target when you are shooting at it.

Night vision options certainly raise the bar, budget-wise. There is no getting around this. Unless you know a guy who knows a guy (you know what I mean…), you are going to pay a pretty penny for a scope with good night vision capabilities, especially if it is a longer range scope. However, for night vision-capable scopes with a range of under 100 yards or so, there are many more affordable options.

Companies which make quality night vision scopes include ATN, Armasight, Burris, and Pulsar. Some use thermal imaging, some use more traditional methods. There are many differences between the two, and again – your intended use and specific circumstances will point you at the better and more effective choice.

Best Scope For AR 15 Under $100

You could argue whether or not it is even worth it, buying a scope for under $100. I am of the opinion that it most certainly is worth it, you just need to know what to expect, and more importantly what not to expect from a cheaper scope.

It is important to note that even if the scope you choose is a cheaper price, it should still do its job and be relatively durable. It doesn’t need to be a big brand name, it doesn’t need to be expensive, it doesn’t need to be made of the finest materials – but it does need to perform.

Here are some of the best scopes for under $100, in the short to medium range:

UTG 3-9X32 BugBuster

UUQ 2.5-10×40

BARSKA 3-9X42 IR

Bushnell Banner Dusk & Dawn 3-9X40

The different specs and details vary, of course, but overall these are four pretty reliable items which you can check out. They may not be a good fit for your specific needs, but on the whole they deliver on their promise.

Conclusion

The one major thing to understand about scopes – whether for the AR-15 or not – is that there is no one-size-fits-all kind of deal. If there is, well, it is probably too good to be true. It is all about finding the right tool for the job. Any given set of conditions or circumstances may call for a different kind of optic, so you’ll have to go with the one which best matches your intended use.

The scope is one of the most important things on your rifle, so make sure to buy a quality one which is within your budget. The prices for the higher-quality optics tend to get pretty high pretty fast. But, even so, that doesn’t mean you should immediately go for the most expensive one on the market. Take your needs into consideration, and see what works for you.

For things like hunting, long-range shooting events, competitions, or defense against targets which are further away – you can’t beat a good scope. Although, to be fair, there are shooters which manage to stretch the capabilities of their red dot sights, thanks to their skill and modern technology.

Scopes will always be a favorite of long-range shooters. Your AR-15 will not only look badass, but it will also perform better at those longer distances. It will become an inseparable part of your rifle’s setup, providing that you get used to the additional weight, and that you train with your scope and (ideally) with your backup sights as well.

Primary Arms is one of the most exciting up-and-coming companies in the firearm industry. The Texas-based manufacturer is responsible for sensational optics and guns that are both innovative and affordable. Their team is committed to providing “firearms enthusiasts, professional shooters, and servicemen and women the highest quality optics at affordable prices”. Likewise, they’ve established one hell of a reputation for their customer service. Overall, Primary Arms is becoming the go-to firearm brands for shooters across America. While they’re more well known for their collection of optics, they also distribute popular rifles, shotguns, and handguns from some of the biggest names in the business.

Primary Arms Red Dot

Primary Arms has a tremendous lineup of proprietary red dot sights in addition to distributing sights from other manufacturers. Most of these red dots offer incredible battery life while ensuring unparalleled durability.

Primary Arms Advanced 30MM Red Dot – FDE

In fact, they calculated that adding extra strength was worth the additional few ounces. Besides for the hardcoat anodized finish, these sights are also waterproof and can also handle a decent amount of environmental abuse. Many people consider these red dots cheap alternatives Aimpoint, so they make a nice addition to any tactical firearm. Although they may not be as user-friendly as Aimpoints, they’re still intuitive and a good choice for beginners.

Primary Arms Micro Dot

Primary Arms is most famous for their microdot red sights and they are surprisingly impressive. Although they have astonishingly low price tags, they’re solid Aimpoint alternatives. These high-quality microdots offer 50,000 hours of battery life and have improved controls to give users flawless operation. Keep in mind that they’re so confident in their quality that they now offer lifetime warranties for these sights. By adding a few ounces for increased durability, you don’t have to worry about babying these sights.

Additionally, it’s hard to beat their crisp 2 MOA red dot with one of the lowest profile emitters in the industry. Plus, their multi-coated anti-reflective lenses and 12 illumination settings make these sights great in any setting. I was really impressed with Primary for incorporating a <g class="gr_ gr_7 gr-alert gr_spell gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim ContextualSpelling ins-del multiReplace" id="7" data-gr-id="7">MIL-STD</g>-1913 Picatinny rail mount so users can attach it to practically any long gun right out of the box. Even if you don’t believe me, there are hundreds of reviews online from satisfied customers that can attest to their quality. Primary Arms is the perfect example that higher cost means higher quality.

Primary Arms Advanced Micro Dot

Primary Arms 1 6

The Primary Arms 1-6x24mm SFP rifle scope Gen III with the Advanced Combined Sighting System reticle (ACSS) is a fantastic accessory for shooters looking to reach up to 800 yards. The new and improved scope is shorter and lighter than previous models and even features an additional 10 MOA of internal adjustment. I attached one of these guys on my T3X TAC A1 (6.5 Creedmoor) and had a blast picking up coyotes. Although there are plenty of options and adjustments you can make with the SFP scope, it was surprisingly easy to use. The variable magnification scope offers an instinctive sighting system, plus it’s a second focal plane, so it’s hard not to love it.

Primary Arms 1-6X24mm FFP Rifle Scope – Illuminated ACSS Raptor 7.62x39mm 300BLK Reticle

Primary Arms 1 8

As much as I liked the Primary Arms 1×6 scope, I was really excited to try out the Platinum Series 1-8x24mm FFP scope. Although it will cost you over $1,000, the night vision compatible first focal plane rifle scope is sure to impress. Primary crafted these waterproof, shock resistant, and <g class="gr_ gr_7 gr-alert gr_spell gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim ContextualSpelling ins-del multiReplace" id="7" data-gr-id="7">hardcoat</g> anodized optics with some of the highest quality materials around. In addition to premium Japanese glass and partial red reticle illumination, the FFP scopes <g class="gr_ gr_8 gr-alert gr_gramm gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim Grammar multiReplace" id="8" data-gr-id="8">offers</g> 0.1 MIL click adjustments and <g class="gr_ gr_9 gr-alert gr_gramm gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim Punctuation only-del replaceWithoutSep" id="9" data-gr-id="9">locking,</g> zero-resettable turrets. Overall, you can expect incredibly fast target acquisition and a shooting experience you can be proud of.

Primary Arms ACSS

There are several Primary scopes that feature their innovative proprietary Advanced Combined Sighting System reticle. These state-of-the-art optics provide shooters with moving target leads, range estimation, and bullet drop compensation. The instinctive sighting system is great for shooters whether they’re aiming at targets at 100 yards or 800 yards. In fact, the ACSS reticle is so remarkable that even Trijicon integrated the reticle into some of their sights.

Conclusion

At the end of the day, Primary Arms is making waves in the firearm industry thanks to their high-quality and affordable optics. Between red dots, rifle scopes, and ACSS optics, Primary is revolutionizing the market by providing shooters with cheaper alternatives to industry favorites. I expect them to make big strides in the next few years by expanding their repertoire.

When it comes to scopes and optical accessories, people are pretty loyal. They find an optic which they are comfortable with, and they stick with it. Two of the most popular optics are Trijicon’s Advanced Combat Optical Gunsight (ACOG) series, and Electro-Optics Technology’s (EOTech) holographic weapon sights (HWS).

As ACOG vs EOTech rifle sights go, the differences between these two systems are many and varied. Some people don’t give them the time of day, preferring more traditional scopes or even back-up iron sights. Those are all well and good, but if you are interested in getting the best for your rifle, Trijicon’s ACOG and EOTech’s HWS are the way to go.

These days, there are tons of tools and optical accessories available. As with every single firearm accessory ever made, it is the shooter’s wants, needs, and financial abilities that will have the last say. You need to know what distance you will be shooting at, approximately. Will it be daytime or nighttime? Is the weapon designed for home defense or open combat? An accessory – especially an optic – may be great, but if you don’t need it, then you simply won’t use it. If you don’t use it, it becomes a liability and a hassle. Nobody wants that.

EOTech holographic sights have quality glass and a small red dot. They are ideal for quick, semi-long range shooting – even though there they have no magnification capabilities. The MOA is minimal, which means that you have better chances of being on target, even from a distance.

The EOTech design enables fast target acquisition. You can shoot it with both eyes open, thereby maximizing your field of vision (straight and peripheral) without compromising your surroundings. You can also shoot it with the classic one eye shut technique, and get very good results. By the way, there are ways of achieving magnification with an EOTech, but since that involves purchasing another accessory, we will be leaving that option out.

EOTech sights are battery-powered, which is something of a drawback, in my opinion. But, to be fair, this battery thing is true to many scopes, and is not at all specific to EOTech’s devices. Battery life is about 500 hours, which is good but not amazing. If you put an extra battery in your stock or grip, you should have no problem. Still, you don’t want to end up in a situation where your optics fail due to a dead battery. If you are shooting a target of up to 100 – 120 yards, EOTech are definitely worth looking into.

Holographic sights are normally less expensive than telescopic sights, but that does not make them any less of a threat. People do not necessarily need magnification, and for them there is a good chance that the EOTech will provide all of the security they will ever need.

Trijicon ACOG Sights for Rifles

Trijicon ACOG Sights

Trijicon ACOG sights are a whole other story. While holographic sights fall under the “red dot sight” umbrella, ACOGs are in a class of their own. ACOGs are telescopic sights, with varying degrees of fixed magnification. They have been standard issue for U.S. Army personnel ever since the late 80’s, and in the 90’s they also became standard issue for the Marines. That should give you an idea of just how accurate, precise, and shooter-friendly these scopes are.

ACOGs have different systems of illumination. Some utilize tritium, and others use a fiber optic. Some systems use both, and are magnificent to shoot with during day or night. The thing about ACOGs is the price – it is high. Totally worth it, make no mistake, but nevertheless high. If you can afford one, and are interested in getting one, go for it. You will not be disappointed. ACOGs are a work of modern optical art.

Even though tritium does have something of a limited lifespan (12-15 years, give or take), the ACOG scopes serve as a wonderful optic even after the tritium has faded. Trijicon’s devices are fit for hardcore combat situations, and they have been seeing combat for many years, in many places around the world.

These scopes have proven themselves worthy of all the praise which they receive. ACOGs are used by many security organizations and armed forces, and are well-respected. You don’t reach recognition of that magnitude without doing something right. This would not be the case with an inferior product, and sure enough – companies which produce low-quality ACOG-like products are not on the same level. Trijicon stand behind their scopes with pride.

This series of scopes is constantly illuminated, thereby eliminating the need for batteries or other external sources of power. Once the juice does run out on your ACOG, it remains a great optic on its own merit, with phenomenal sight quality, durable materials, and superb craftsmanship.

ACOGs are made for longer ranges than the EOTech, so it really does depend on the shooter and the intended targets. If the rifle in question is designed for home defense or other kinds of close quarter combat (CQC), the EOTech might be the better option. Although, for the sake of fairness, you could make use of the Bindon Aiming Concept (BAC) with the Trijicon, and make every shot count, regardless of the proximity of the target.

The BAC technique was developed by Trijicon’s founder Glyn Bindon, and at its core, it acts as a way to successfully acquire a target, while keeping the shooter’s field of vision open and unobstructed. Closing one eye puts the shooter at an optical disadvantage, and using the BAC is a way to ensure that you are not missing out on what is going on around you.

Best Optical Accessories for Your Rifle

Both EOTech and Trijicon manufacture their accessories right here in the U.S., and that is no small thing in today’s world. EOTech provides a two-year limited warranty on its sights, and Trijicon provides a limited lifetime warranty on their scopes. To be clear, with Trijicon, the lifetime warranty is on materials and craftsmanship, and the systems of illumination are guaranteed for 10 – 15 years (depending on the method used).

The bottom line:

ACOGs are more battle oriented. They are a combat magnifier, and they do their job wonderfully. Police, SWAT, Army, Marines, and even everyday civilians – many of them swear by the ACOG and its effectiveness. At longer ranges, there is no beating its quality and reliability. Main downside – price.

EOTech sights are made for more ‘in your face’ kind of situations. Part of what makes EOTech sights so popular, is the ease and rapidness with which a shooter can locate the target. Just lift your rifle and WHOOMP, there it is. Holographic weapon sights allow the shooter to achieve a proper balance between speed and accuracy. Some EOTech models even sport night vision compatibility. Main downside – battery-operated.

I’ve Got You in My “Sights”

Both the ACOG and the EOTech come in a variety of models, and it is always recommended you do your research before putting your money on the counter. If you get the chance to try these both out, I urge you to do so. It would be the best way to see which one is the sight for you. With accessories, it is always a matter of personal preference and opinion. Features and attributes which fit your wants and needs, may not fit another’s.

Conclusion

Both of these companies have made it their mission to provide shooters with the best, clearest, and most accurate shooting experience. Whether you are at the range or on the battle field, it doesn’t get any better than this. When you mount either one of these optics on your rifle, you will know exactly where your money went.

Of course, there is a simple way to resolve this whole “versus” thing. If you have more than one rifle – and the disposable income to make it happen – there is no debate. You could fit one rifle with an EOTech, and another with an ACOG.

One things we can say for a certainty about Aimpoint History and Products is that they are unique. In 1974, a group of Swedish entrepreneurs got together. They had one goal in mind: to come up with better sighting technology for European hunters. The company called Aimpoint was founded by the late Gunnar Sandberg, who died in 2007. His son, Per, is currently the CEO of Aimpoint. Judging by what Aimpoint has been doing since Sandberg’s death, it can be said without a doubt that Per definitely takes after his father.

Not Just For Hunters Anymore

This company may have started with hunters in mind, but in the course of its many years, the company has expanded. It now caters to civilian, police, and military forces around the world.

Aimpoint is one of the largest and most well-known manufacturers of red dot sights in the world. Their products have proven themselves in combat as well as competition, and they have been well received by shooters from all walks of life, for over four decades. Quite a record.

Their first product, the Aimpoint Electronic, is supposedly the first sight to incorporate a light-emitting diode (LED) in its design. This just goes to show how innovative and creative this company and its engineers are. 23 years after its founding, Aimpoint secured its first long-term military contract with the U.S. Armed Forces. The Aimpoint CompM2 model sight was renamed “M68 Close Combat Optic” (CCO), and soldiers were then able to utilize this sight’s amazing capabilities.

The company’s headquarters are still based in Sweden, and it also has a subsidiary in the U.S., with facilities located in Virginia.

All of Aimpoint’s products are non-magnifying, and they are also known as reflector or reflex sights. The company claims their products to be parallax free, but some amount of parallax is usually unavoidable, since we are talking of sights which make use of lenses and mirrors.

Depending on the range and angle, there may be need for parallax correction and compensation, but compared to other products, Aimpoint is certainly ahead of the curve. These sights are based on years of experience and smart engineering, and there is just no beating that.

Part of what makes Aimpoint products so amazing is their ability to function for prolonged periods of time – sometimes years – without the need for battery replacement. By using the proprietary circuit efficiency technology (CET) and advanced circuit efficiency technology (ACET), Aimpoint’s sights are able to perform continuously for thousands and thousands of hours. These systems provide the hunter, combat soldier, or government agent with confidence, and make using the weapon a lot easier and more convenient.

Commercial and Professional Products

Aimpoint’s products are placed in one of two categories: commercial or professional. In other words, one category covers hunting and sport shooting, and the other deals with military and law enforcement use. Other than those two categories, there are also many accessories that can be purchased directly from Aimpoint. These accessories are often designated for use with specific models.

This company’s product line is impressive. In the course of time, with the advent of new technology and manufacturing techniques, some of Aimpoint’s products have been discontinued. Other products have been replaced by superior, more advanced models.

Here is a short rundown of Aimpoint’s products:

It includes 4 models: H30S, H30L, H34S, and H34L. These are all red dot reflex sights, which make use of a LED as its source of light. The S and L in the model names refer to ‘short’ and ‘long’.

These sights were launched in 2010, but the origins of this particular line of products go way back. After all, the Aimpoint Company began as a provider of optical solutions for the hunters of Europe. With the release of this amazing line, the company saw the vision of its founders come to fruition. Hunting rifles and shotguns can benefit greatly from these sights, which offer a 2 MOA dot, unlimited eye relief, two-eyes-open shooting, 12 brightness settings, and over 5 years of continuous use on a single 3V lithium CR2032 battery. The H series is not compatible with night vision devices.

Sight Maintenance

Depending on your eyesight, target size, weapon, and ammo, your Aimpoint sight can be used at any range. The dot is not projected on the actual target, but rather exists within the sight itself, thereby making the distance factor into a non-issue.

Always use a soft lens cloth to clean the sight. Never use your fingers. Blow away dirt, and then fog and clean the lens.

When zeroing your weapon, windage and elevation are adjustable. Don’t continue adjusting once you encounter resistance. If you still need to zero, check the rail and the sight’s alignment.

The front lens of all Aimpoint products is tilted. This is done in order to achieve the best possible light transmission with the sight’s LED.

Aimpoint sights require no specific maintenance of any kind, but if you want to get the most of your product, you should:

– Keep the lens covers on when not in use

– Make sure the battery cap and the two adjustment caps are tightened (hand tighten only, according to the manufacturer)

– Wipe and dry the lens as soon as possible, after exposure to any water, snow, mud, or the like.

Accessories And Branded Gear

What about sight accessories or branded gear? Aimpoint also produce and distribute a wide range of both. Some are only for use with certain models, so be sure to buy exactly what you require.
Beware Of Counterfeits And Copies

Whether online or offline, there are many fake Aimpoint products out there, being passed off as originals by various sellers. This is especially prevalent in online auction sites. Make sure to purchase Aimpoint products from one of their authorized dealers, and avoid any issues.

Remember! – Authentic Aimpoint products:

– Will be able to withstand shocks, drops, and firearm recoil.

– Will have a serial number and article number engraved on their side or base.

– Will have the company’s logo on the sight covers

– Will maintain their zero, without fail

– Will require only a single battery to function

– Will cost you some money. You get what you pay for, so be very wary of low prices. If it seems too good to be true, it probably is.

Warranty And Service

Aimpoint uses high-quality materials, and its manufacturing process is just about flawless. It goes through rigorous tests and quality inspection, to ensure the best possible end product. The result is a grade-A weapon sight, meant to last for many years. The company guarantees that its products will be free from manufacturer defects in materials and / or workmanship, under normal use.

For those who use the sights professionally (e.g. military, law enforcement, competitors), the warranty is for a period of 2 years. Those who make personal use of the sights will have them guaranteed for 10 years. All warranties are from original date of purchase, and are limited to the original owner.

The warranty is valid under normal use, so it will be null and void if the sight has been misused, taken apart, or otherwise tampered with in any way. Aimpoint’s local dealers, as well as its customer service reps, are available to you with any questions you may have on repairs, returns, and even possible upgrades.

In Closing

Aimpoint (“The future in sight”) is synonymous with accuracy and precision. Obviously, your success with any sight or accessory also depends on your own skills as a shooter. Aimpoint’s sights make it easier than ever to improve and hit your mark, whether you are a civilian, government agent, or serviceman.

Looking over Aimpoint’s back catalog and list of currently available products, you can really see how the company has advanced over the years. So many different kinds of optics have been – and are still being – engineered, updated, and upgraded. If you are in need of a red dot sight, Aimpoint is definitely a place to start. Depending on your practical needs and personal taste, you will undoubtedly be able to find the right Aimpoint product for you.

Buying a sight can be a difficult task. There are so many companies and models to choose from. It is worth doing some research – or perhaps more than some – in order to purchase the best possible sight, with the most appropriate configuration.

An Aimpoint sight can do a lot for you and your shooting skills. Once the sight is mounted and zeroed, it can be used to immensely improve your firearm chops. These are extremely rugged sights, and they are designed to perform in the best way possible, even under extremely harsh conditions.

The Aimpoint Micro T-1 red dot sight is, in many people’s opinions, one of the greatest combat optics ever to be engineered. Whether it is mounted on a shotgun, an AR-15 , or your favorite handgun like the Glock 19, the T-1 gets great results.

This sight was launched in 2007, as part of Aimpoint’s Micro series. This company has been producing military-grade red dot sights for decades now (since 1975, to be exact), and its research and development department is not showing any signs of slowing down. Aimpoint is consistently releasing newer, better, and more advanced optics for shooters of all kinds, all over the world.

Here are some of the Micro T-1’s technical specifications.

Magnification – 1x

Dimensions – L 2.4 x W 1.6 x H 1.6 inches

Weight – 3.7 oz. (including the battery and mount)

Housing – high-strength aluminum

Eye relief – unlimited

Power source – 1 (one) 3V lithium Cr2032 battery

Battery life – over 5 years of continuous use at normal temperature and daytime setting 8.

Submersible to an 83-foot depth

Mounts to any MIL-STD-1913 (picatinny) rail

Lens coating – anti-reflex, all surfaces and multi-layer. Night vision device-compatible 1, 2, 3

8 daylight settings, 4 night vision settings

As you can tell from the specs, this thing is small and it means business. Because of its small size, its compatibility with night vision devices, and its battery life, the Micro T-1 has become a favorite of military personnel, police officers, government agents, and also ordinary civilians.

Theo-reticle Applications

The Reticle

The red dot reticle comes in a 2 minute of angle (MOA) or a 4 MOA. This gives shooters the option of choosing a reticle which will fit their needs. 2 and 4 MOA dots have a lot to do with distance. If you feel that most of your encounters will be close range, than go with the larger dot. The 2 MOA is better suited for longer-distances. Of course, the T-1 is not magnified, so take that into account. BTW – you may also want to attach a magnifier to your Micro T-1. Again, it all depends on your specific needs.

The T-1 can absorb a lot of shock, and still stay accurate. It gives you the best of both worlds. It is a small package, containing every advantage that you would find on a longer, heavier red dot sight.

Weight is a real issue. If you are simply slinging some lead down the range on some idle Wednesday, that’s one thing. But if you are carrying a lot of gear – whether on a mission, or out camping – every bit of weight matters. This is where the T-1 really shines. It weighs close to nothing, and it won’t be a burden on you or your weapon.

While the T-1 may be used with any and all night vision devices, it works exceptionally well with third generation (Gen3) night vision apparatuses. It responds to specific frequencies of red light, and provides the clearest, brightest, and most efficient picture for the shooter.

As for battery life, this is also a serious issue. This is another reason why Aimpoint’s products stand out, and are ahead of the pack. The advanced circuit efficiency technology (ACET) which the Micro T-1 employs, is one of the greatest things to ever be invented.

ACET essentially means that you never have to turn your sight off. This is a huge advantage. All you have to do is pick up your weapon. The sight is already on and ready to go. No buttons, no adjustments, no pads – nothing. The sight is at your disposal at any given moment.

For this reason, amongst others, the T-1 is such a hit with military and law enforcement. Furthermore, the Micro T-1 has no automatic shutdown feature. It is literally meant to be on, all the time. Obviously, you can choose to shut it off. However, the constant ON mode is part of what makes this such a favorite. It is highly dependable, at any time.

The Price of Quality

Regarding price, this sight is a little more expensive than other Aimpoint sights such as the Comp M4 or Comp M3. You get what you pay for, and with the Micro T-1 you are getting the best. This sight is able to perform under any conditions and weather. It is battle-proven and suited for a wide range of weapons. The night vision device compatibility feature is also a huge plus, but if you feel the night vision settings will not be necessary, there are other Micro sights in this series, which may suit your needs.

Like other Aimpoint sights, the Micro T-1 is parallax-free (Check out some of our other Aimpoint reviews here – Aimpoint Comp M2 ). No need to compensate for anything. No matter where your head moves, the dot remains in place. Just put it on the target, and squeeze the trigger.

Aimpoint’s optics are guaranteed for a time period of 2 years (professional or competition use) or 10 years (for personal use). Aimpoint stands behind all of its products, and if anything is found to be faulty, the company will repair or replace the sight. Then, it will send it back to the original owner, free of charge.

This optic comes with bikini lens covers, and this may be the one thing which is not amazingly high-quality. The lens covers are not that great, and if covering your lenses is crucial, do yourself a favor and get better lens covers.

The elevation and windage knobs are both covered, and should your optic require adjustments, you will need to unscrew a cap and then adjust your sight. So, this means that alterations and corrections cannot be done too easily on the fly, but it is manageable. The knob caps act as the sight’s adjustment tool (I thought this was rather brilliant of them!), so no other tools or gadgets are required to alter your sight’s settings. There is an audible click with every turn of the knob, which assists the shooter with accurate adjustment.

My Two Cents

red dot sight

If you are looking for a close-range engagement optic, you should seriously consider the Micro T-1, by Aimpoint. Yes, it is pricier. But you know damn well where that extra money has gone, when you peek though that lens and see an unparalleled clear, crisp image.

Aimpoint’s sights have generated many knock-offs and cheap imitations. These are nowhere near the quality and durability which the original optics possess. Make sure to purchase an Aimpoint from a reputable company or shop, and that way you will know you are getting your money’s worth.

The Aimpoint hunter series scopes have revolutionized hunting. When Aimpoint was founded in the middle of the 1970’s, part of the founders’ goal was to provide better aiming solutions for the European hunting community. Aimpoint has come a long way and in this Aimpoint hunter series review I’ll discuss the pro’s and con’s of this amazing hunting sight series.

hunting is a way of life

Aimpoint’s innovations date back to 1975 when it introduced the first light-emitting diode (LED) red dot reflex sight called the Electronic. The rest, as they say, is history. The company grew, and it went on to release many excellent products over the years like the Aimpoint Comp M3 and Comp M4 . It was always popular with shooters of all kinds, but its big break came in 1997, when Aimpoint was awarded a multi-year military contract, and began working extensively with the United States Armed Forces and NATO.

C is For Cookie, H is for Hunter

weighing in on weight

The Aimpoint Hunter series was launched in 2010. (Side Note: Prior to releasing the Hunter Series Aimpoint came out with the Micro H-1 and H-2 models, also designed with the hunter in mind but much smaller in size). This unique product line includes 4 models: the H30S, H30L, H34S, and H34L. . These sights are all red dot reflex sights, which utilize a light-emitting diode as a source of light. The S and L in the model names refer to ‘short’ and ‘long’, and they vary accordingly.

In a way, the H series saw the vision shared by that small group of 1970’s Swedish entrepreneurs come to be fully realized, with the launching of these sights in 2010. This is a series meant for hunting.

The H sights are meant to be mounted mainly on two different styles of rifles: lightweight or compact is one, and magnum or standard-action is the other. This thing fits on so many different weapons. Whichever hunting rifle (or shotgun) you choose, there will most likely be an H series Aimpoint sight that will be able to be mounted on top of your rail, and deliver the best hunting experience there is.

Many people feel that only a magnifying optic will give you what you need to make a successful shot. Perhaps they have been watching too many Hollywood movies, since in a lot of cases it is the exact opposite which is true. If you try to snag a deer or hog with your 3x magnifier scope – certainly if it is on the move – there is a good chance that it will get away, due to the difficulties of tracking it with a magnifier. What most hunters actually require is a close to mid-range optic, and that is precisely what Aimpoint is all about.

Plus, with the Aimpoint sights, both of your eyes are wide open. This is a big game-changer. There is no need to whittle down your field of vision, and risk losing the animal by trying to “zoom in” on it. With Aimpoint’s red dot sights, you simply place the dot on the target, and fire. That bullet will reach its destination. Sometimes, less is more.

Sight Similarities, Slight Differences

The Hunter series sights share many similarities:

sights and subtles differences

1x magnification

2 minute of angle (MOA) dot reticle

Incompatibility with night vision devices

Unlimited eye relief

12 daylight brightness settings

Use of a single 3V lithium battery, type CR2032

50,000 hours (over 5 years) of continuous-on battery life, when used with a daytime setting

Anti-reflex lens coating, all surfaces and multi-layer

Rugged, high-grade aluminum housing

One area where these sights differ is in regards to their dimensions:

H30S – L 7.7 X W 1.6 X H 1.6 inches

H30L – L 9 X W 1.6 X H 1.6 inches

H34S – L 7.7 X W 1.8 X H 1.8 inches

H34L – L 9 X W 1.8 X H 1.8 inches

There is also a difference in weight:

H30S – 7.9 oz.

H30L – 8.4 oz.

H34S – 8.9 oz.

H34L – 9.3 oz.

These sights do have some weight to them, no doubt. However, it is manageable. It isn’t the type of weight that would cause you to break your back 2 days into a 4-day hunting trip. I feel that if it were something like 12 oz., that would be a weight-size which is more significant. Some scopes and sights reach critical weight classes, and make it inefficient to consider carrying them for prolonged periods of time. Of course, like with every single weapons accessory, it is very much a matter of personal preference and opinion. There are those who choose to carry larger, heavier optics, for their own reasons.

It All Comes Down to the Tubes

Another difference between these sights has to do with their tubing. The H30 duo sports a 30mm tube, while the pair of H34’s features a 34mm tube. Both of these diameters enable the light to be transmitted clearly and efficiently, and they provide a clear, crisp picture when peering through the coated lens.

Most hunters go for the 34mm tube. For that reason, the H34 sights are probably the more popular ones out there. However, if you have the need for a different kind of use, which requires a smaller tube, the H30’s 30mm tube is right there for the taking.

The benefits of a good scope for hunting rifles are numerous. Whether it is for turkeys, gazelles, rabbits, goats, or even more dangerous game like hippos, the Aimpoint Hunter series allows the shooter to concentrate and be situationally aware. This is one of the biggest advantages of the Aimpoint sights. Having both your eyes open means that you are not leaving anything out. You aren’t focusing on the front iron sights or on a reticle that is covering up the entire animal. You bring it up, look through the optic, and that 2 MOA dot will provide you with all of the security and confidence you need.

hunting with friends

The H series is a practical hunting sight. The military-grade ruggedness means that you can put it through a lot, and it will still keep on trucking like it’s nobody’s business. The ministry of defense and the U.S. military have tested the Aimpoint sights again and again, before approving them as a standard issue for the troops. That same ruggedness is part of the Hunter series.

It doesn’t matter what the weather is, who you are, where you are, or how proficient you are with a hunting rifle. Aimpoint’s H series makes it easy for anyone to get on the target and make the shot count. Like all other Aimpoint optics, the H series is parallax free (no compensation required), has no potentially-damaging lasers, is made of no hazardous materials, and is built to stay on and serve the shooter for many years.

shooting from afar

So, to sum up a little:

Shooting game up to 200 yards away? The Aimpoint Hunter sight may be exactly what you need. There are many different types of sights and scopes so do your research, see what you need (not what people are pushing you to buy), and if you are able to get your hands on one and try it out, I urge you to do so. With a first-hand experience, you will see just how great these sights are.

The Aimpoint Comp M2 is (or rather, was) one of Aimpoint’s most successful products. It is a sight which has been issued to many Special Forces units, around the world. The CompM2 was made for military and law-enforcement, and when it was released in the year 2000, it instantly became the standard against which all other red dot sight are measured. The Comp series was first introduced in 1993, and its many models are considered to be the cream of the crop of red dot sights.

Special Forces Units

The CompM2 model was discontinued in 2012, but for over a decade it was the go-to optic for many infantry soldiers, government agents, law-enforcement officers, as well as civilian hunters and competitive shooters. It is a product which everyone loved, right off the bat, and it is still being used by many. It is a reflex sight, with a light-emitting diode (LED) functioning as its light source. The M2’s 4 minute of angle (MOA) dot was the most accurate and versatile reticle around, and this did not go unnoticed by militaries and government agencies.

Discontinued But Not Out of Use!

There are about 300,000 units of CompM2 which are still in service. Even though this particular model has been discontinued, Aimpoint still provides service for those who wish to take advantage of this excellent sight. Aimpoint still certainly stands behind it, and there is no reason why it shouldn’t.

When the CompM2 was used by the United States Armed Forces (Army, Air Force, Special Forces), it was classified as the M68CCO (close combat optic). This thing was the real deal, ready for use at the drop of a hat, under any condition, and in any kind environment. The CompM3 and CompM4 continue to improve on the M2’s foundation.

The CompM2 is compatible with every generation of night vision devices, and Aimpoint’s then-new Circuit Efficiency Technology (CET) meant that battery-life shot way up, and left the competition in the dust. This is one of Aimpoint’s serious advantages. Later, the Advanced Circuit Efficiency Technology (ACET) was introduced, and battery-life was extended even further. Thanks to this highly-advanced technology, the CompM3 and CompM4’s battery-life can be measured in years, not mere hours or days.

I’ve Got My Sight On You

close quarter battle

The sight’s reticle is a 4 MOA dot. At long distances, it may appear a bit too large for some shooters. However, for close quarter battle (CQB) scenarios, this sight was a revelation. The red dot provides the shooter with the ability to lift, aim, shoot, and make the shot count. It is no wonder that this sight was issued to Special Ops in NATO and the U.S. Armed Forces.

Having to deal with combat situations in dense urban areas, means having to change the way you approach battle. This isn’t the jungles of Vietnam or the shores of France, and it isn’t Berlin in 1944-5, either. This is a different story, altogether. We’re talking points of entry, room-to-room searches, apartment building takeovers, hostage situations, and the like. Speed, efficiency, and accuracy are always a part of combat, but those words seem to take on a whole new meaning, when you are dealing with CQB.

For these reasons, the CompM2 was one of the greatest sights that Aimpoint ever released. It had a nice run, before it was replaced with the M3 and the M4. Those two models are still being produced and used by civilians and security personnel, worldwide. The 4 MOA, which was standard with the CompM2, became a choice with the later models. Shooters can now opt for a 2 MOA dot or a 4 MOA dot, depending on the kind of shooting that is anticipated.

If you are looking for a non-magnifying sight, which provides you with quick and easy target acquirement, the Comp series is the way to go. What is great about the Comp line, is that it is made to fit perfectly with Aimpoint’s 3xMAG magnifier optic. It is meant to be mounted behind your chosen sight, and it gives you a closer look at anything you want, with 3x magnification. This opens the sight up for long distance shooting, and it is a combination which many shooters take advantage of.

Like all of Aimpoint’s products, the CompM2 is parallax-free – no error-compensation required. The reticle stays in place, even if your eyes move.

Aimpoint’s optics are guaranteed under the company’s limited warranty. Like I said, the company still provides customer service for those who are in need of it. Of course, it is a limited warranty, and more information on the company’s guarantees can be found on Aimpoint’s official website.

Trusting Yourself and Your Weapon

always be prepared

Optics are a weapon accessory which people trust their lives to. If you are about to trust your gear with your life, you need to be 100% sure. You need to be confident in your optic. Of course, it is an electrical accessory. Even though Aimpoint’s products are top-shelf, it is highly-recommended to continue training with back-up iron sights.

It is my opinion that you should never rely completely on an optic, even if you are confident in its abilities. It is always a good idea to continue training with back-up iron sights. You don’t want to get caught in a situation where your optic is down or otherwise malfunctioning, and you are at a loss of what to do.

Part of carrying a weapon – any kind of weapon, but especially lethal ones – is situational awareness. Being aware of what is going on. This is partly why Aimpoint’s sights incorporate two-eyes-open shooting. It gives the shooter a fuller picture, and it helps you stay on target.

Launched in 2005, the Aimpoint Comp M3 was – and still is – one of the greatest red dot reflex sights ever invented, perhaps surpassed only by its successor, the CompM4. The Comp series was first introduced in 1993, and ever since then it has been a favorite with shooters everywhere. This sight has earned the respect of civilians, law-enforcement agencies, and military organizations all over the world.

At the time, Aimpoint created the CompM3 sight primarily for use by police and armed forces. The red dot reticle is projected by use of a light-emitting diode (LED), and unlike laser products or other types of sights, there is no danger to anyone’s eyes.

Aimpoint Comp M3 Rifle

The CompM3 is available in either a 2 minute of angle (MOA) dot or a 4 MOA dot. Depending on the intended use of whichever rifle this sight is to be mounted on, the desired MOA can vary. For longer distances, the smaller MOA is better. If you are a soldier, who is expecting to engage targets further away, say at the 100 yard mark or more, you don’t want (or need) a large dot taking up your space and complicating your shot.

Aimpoint Comp M3 Rifle

On the other hand, if your rifle is intended for home-defense use (or something similar), the 4 MOA dot is probably the way to go. It provides the best solution for close-quarter battle (CQB) situations. That way, when you pick up your rifle, the dot allows for quick and easy target acquisition.

The M3’s housing is made of strong, top-grade aluminum, and it makes it a highly durable accessory. You can put this thing through a lot of punishment, and it will be up to the trials and challenges of even the harshest of circumstances. It is no wonder that the U.S. Armed Forces have been using Aimpoint products for so many years.

The Aimpoint CompM3 comes with an outer black rubber cover, also available in dark earth. This cover aids in preserving, protecting, and camouflaging your sight.

This sight comes with a 3V battery, and as you can see from the tech specs, the life of this battery can be measured in years, not hours. If there is one thing in which other optics companies like EOTech or Trijicon are somewhat lacking, it is battery life. The absolute last thing you want is for your optic to fail when you need to take that shot.

Aimpoint’s (nearly) inexplicable battery-life is part of what makes this company stand out in an optic-flooded aftermarket. Its Advanced Circuit Efficiency Technology (ACET) models, of which the CompM3 is a part of, make sure that you are never left out in the cold. This thing can stay on, continuously, for years. Now THAT is impressive.

Aimpoint Comp M3 Accessories

The Aimpoint CompM3 comes with a replaceable black rubber cover (also available in dark earth). This cover aids in preserving, protecting, and camouflaging your sight. Aimpoint guarantees total satisfaction, and pleasing their customers (and military liaisons) is at the top of their list.

The price of this optic hover around $680, but you can find it for less than that at various places online and offline. It is the price you pay for quality, and it is totally and completely worth it. Having the Aimpoint CompM3 sight on your weapon means that you are ready for anything. Speed, efficiency, durability – these are what make Aimpoint’s sights some of the best in the entire world. It is a sight which (just about) every shooter loves.

Like all of Aimpoint’s products, this sight comes with a guarantee. The warranty for Aimpoint’s sights in either 2 years (professional and competition use), or 10 years (personal use). The materials and craftsmanship are top-notch, and the company stands behind its products with great pride. Should there be something defective with the optic, Aimpoint will repair or replace the item in question.

Aimpoint Comp M3 Army Style

The M3 can be mounted in several ways, and it gives you a lot of flexibility when it comes to additional accessories and what not. The ability to customize your rifle easily is part of why the Comp series in general – and the M3 in particular – is such a hit. It works, it’s solid, it’s rugged, and it gets the job done in the best possible way. Anyone who has ever looked through an Aimpoint Comp-series sight will attest to its simplicity and accuracy.

Many different kinds of accessories are available for the CompM3: lens covers (individual / bikini), various filters for reducing or altogether eliminating reflections brought on by the sun or the sight’s objective lens, spare battery kit, battery cap adjustment screws, and others. Like I said – highly customizable.

Aimpoint Comp M3 History

Aimpoint has been engineering and manufacturing great optics accessories ever since the mid-1970s. They have been awarded numerous military and government contracts, and they have earned each and every one. As a military supplier, the company’s products are constantly under fire – being tested and put through harrowing trials. Aimpoint comes up winning, and we get to win right along with them. Using an Aimpoint product like the CompM3 is knowing that you are using an optic which is battle-proven, and that is saying a lot.

Aimpoint CompM3 Sight

This company is the originator of the red dot sight. It literally revolutionized the worlds of hunting, competition-shooting, security, and self-defense. Not bad for a group of Swedish entrepreneurs, huh? In my opinion, it goes on the list of Sweden’s greatest exports, right alongside their famous meatballs, their Volvos, and their IKEA furniture. Obviously, I also have a soft spot for the Swedish Chef from The Muppets. But that’s a different story altogether…

The Aimpoint Comp M4 sight is in my opinion and in many others’, one of the finest sights ever to be invented. It is a reflector or “reflex” sight, meaning it is a red dot type of optic. According to Aimpoint, it is the most rugged and most capable sight in their entire catalogue. The Comp product line began in 1993, with the release of the Aimpoint Comp red dot sight. The Comp was meant primarily for handguns, and though that particular model was discontinued in 1999, it went on to spawn many follow-up models.

The CompM4 is one of those follow-ups. It is issued to many infantry soldiers and law enforcement officers. It has proven itself in countless confrontations and military operations all over the world. More than 1 million units of the Comp sight series are still being used today. As optics technology advances even further into the future, Aimpoint is able to harness these technological advantages, shape them, mold them, perfect them – and brings us products which have the ability to reach more types of shooters and weapons-enthusiasts.

With the CompM4 red dot sight from Aimpoint, hitting the target becomes just about the easiest thing in the world (providing, of course, that you are within the appropriate range!). A red dot sight in itself is pretty straightforward, and with the CompM4 there is no room for error – put the dot on the target, and squeeze that trigger.

Launched in 2007, this sight was adopted by the United States Armed Forces. Civilians, law-enforcement officers, and military personnel have been taking advantage of the CompM4’s acute precision and versatility ever since.

This sight features a 2 minute of angle (MOA) dot, for close quarter battle (CQB) as well as longer-distance engagements. The dot is projected by use of a light-emitting diode (LED), so there is no danger to the eyes. (Check out our Trijicon reflex article for a look at another great CQB sight).

Comp M4 Compared to Comp M4s

M4 VS M4s

One feature which really sets this optic apart is its battery life. Not measured in hours, or even days, but in years. This is partially why Aimpoint has such a great reputation. People in and out of uniform rely on these optics to perform when the chips are down. The CompM4 – and the rest of Aimpoint’s sights – is famous for never needing to be shut down. Just leave it on, and carry on with your day-to-day. Should the need arise, simply look into your sight. You will clearly see that red dot, glowing and ready for anything, in your chosen setting of brightness.

The battery compartment is what differentiates the two available CompM4 models – CompM4 and CompM4s. The CompM4 has a high battery compartment, and the M4s compartment has a low one. That is really the only difference between these excellent sights. Seems trivial, but it is one difference which matters. Depending on what other kinds of accessories you have (or plan on having) mounted on your rifle, the location of the battery compartment can be an asset or a liability.

As for the optic itself – the coating on the lenses allow for the clearest, most unparalleled transmission of light. You see a nice, sharp picture, and with the both-eyes-open technique it is essential that the picture is as true as can be. This is where you can tell the difference between a cheap optic and a quality one. Ultimately, it is all about the picture. It needs to be crisp and the Aimpoint CompM4 delivers just that.

The Price of Quality

Getting the Job Done!

Obviously, this comes at a price. These sights are expensive, but there is no reason why they should not be. You can’t expect to plunk down $50 or even $100, and get a high quality scope or sight. If you want quality and ingenuity which is built to last, you need to shell out some money. But it isn’t as if this money is going down the drain. Not by a long shot (see what I did there?).

This is a weapon’s optic we’re talking about here, and – whether you are an ordinary civilian or a uniform-wearing servicemen – you are purchasing it for a reason. Self-defense, tactical needs, hunting, competition shooting, training. When you buy an optic, you need to be able to count on it, and that is why we invest these amounts in our accessories.

This sight has a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of around $900, and you will probably be able to find it for less than that, if you shop around a bit before purchasing.

The CompM4 fits perfectly with the 3xMag magnifier (also from Aimpoint), and there are those who make it a point to have them both on the weapon, working as one. Aimpoint is one of the best sight/scope options out there, and their 3x magnifier is used by many shooters.

Latest and Greatest

The Aimpoint CompM4s is the latest version of the U.S. Army´s M68CCO. The low battery compartment means that there is less clutter in your field of vision. However, each sight has its advantages. For some shooters, having a lower battery compartment gets in the way of manipulating their magnifier. It really is a question of personal preference and ease of use.

Both the CompM4 and the CompM4s are customizable. The standard mount and vertical spacer can be altered, all depending on the mission at hand. These sights are versatile and up for any task. Like all Aimpoint sights, these are parallax-free, built from durable materials. They are built for harsh environments and weather conditions, they are reliable, and they can help reduce the amounts of ammo used in training.

quality sights since 1974

Aimpoint has been making quality sights since 1974. It released its legendary Electronic sight in 1975, and has not stopped wowing us with each new product they bring into the market. With so many aftermarket products available for so many weapons, it isn’t easy to stay on top of things, and to be fresh and innovative. But, Aimpoint keeps proving itself worthy of its many titles, awards, and military contracts.

An Aimpoint sight is guaranteed for 2 years (professional and competition use) or 10 years (personal use). If necessary, Aimpoint will repair the sight, and then send it back to the owner, free of charge. Just remember – if you happen to need customer service, remove any and all mounts or accessories which are not part of the original product

Aim well, hit hard.
